Resumee

Sandro Diener shows at the Photo Münsingen some of his landscape photographs represented by the Galerie Bildhalle in Zurich. Whether in the Alps, Eastern Europe or Iceland: Diener is waiting for that magical moment in which earth, light and weather create a strange, almost surreal scenery. It does not depict landscape, but reveals its size. Familiar or alien terrain - in the photography of Sandro Diener Everything comes together to create a timeless and placeless topography: rock formations become a stage and clouds set a mountain in motion. Stone, grass, light and fog are part of a photographic painting.

The productions entitled "Shades of White" are also on display in Münsingen Sandro Diener Took photos for UBS in 2014. His task was to photograph 17 event topics for the bank's top customer segment. In return, he was given the artistic freedom to work out the essence of each topic and to photograph it in his typical style. The only restrictions: no image montages and the requirement to design the images with a high proportion of white. Time for planning and producing all 17 pictures: six weeks. Ultimately, people involved in the project: 200. From the Salzburg Festival to Ice Driving in Sweden to philanthropy: Diener moved in the water, in the snow, on ice, in the air or in the desert and was on the road in Iceland, southern England, Italy, Romania and South Africa to realize this complex and highly demanding series.

Sandro Diener

sandro-diener_300The talent of Sandro Diener cannot be classified in the usual categories such as portrait, reportage, landscape or fashion photography. He moves in all these areas with a consistent and straightforward visual language. His photographs transport us to another planet. Whether landscape, portrait or staging: He leaves out everything banal and professes an aesthetic of simplicity.
