Solothurn photo club

The Solothurn Photo Club can look back on 65 years of history. Since the foundation, the members have been driven by enthusiasm for the wide, creative field of photography. Together they strive to expand their knowledge and skills, support each other in their photographic work and maintain the comradely competition in search of the best pictures.

Exhibition theme: seeing nature

Selected pictures from this year's big club exhibition that invite you to see, to be amazed and to be impressed by the beauty of nature.

Photo club aperture 8 Bern

The photo club Blende 8 has existed since 1978. When it comes to active leisure activities, the members are interested in a wide variety of photography topics.

These include the topics: people, portrait, nude, nature, landscapes, architecture, macro and close-ups, flowers, still lifes, technology and events.

Although some members started out with analog photography earlier, today the focus is exclusively on digital photography. It is understandable that image processing on the PC influences a significant part of our work. The images are processed and finished in both monochrome and color.

Move

With our pictures, the photographers want to show the movement possibilities of people in different activities, like here at a circus performance and a flamenco dance shoot. A short report about the diversity of different types of movement should also be presented.

Photo club Thun

Joint photography, image viewing and image processing are the main topics in our club. In addition to the goal of developing ourselves photographically, camaraderie is also important to us. The Rössli in Dürrenast has an exchange of experience once a month.

The members of the Photo Club Thun usually meet once a month for a club evening or club event. (Club evenings take place on Tuesdays
19.30 p.m.). The club is located in the basement of the Gutknechtstiftung retirement and nursing home at Postgässli 7 in Thun / Dürrenast.

On our website www.fotoclubthun.ch can view the current annual program under the menu item Club -> Programs viewed or downloaded.

Every year we take part in the competition of Photo Münsingen and the umbrella organization Photo Suisse, we also hold a club exhibition every year.

The photo club in its current form has existed since 1955

Exhibition theme: color blue

This broad topic for our exhibition gave all the photographers in the photo club a lot of leeway for taking and creating “blue pictures”. This probably motivated many members to take part.

The greatest challenge was not discovering “blue subjects” but rather selecting photos for the exhibition. On the one hand, the diverse work of the various authors in our club had to be taken into account; on the other hand, the pictures should also be able to be integrated harmoniously into the exhibition.

The following requirements had to be complied with:

  • Most of the picture surface must be blue in color
  • The pictures are in portrait format (40 X 50 cm including a white border of
    2 cm)

The images were selected at the club experience exchange on April 4, 2019.

Photo club Belp

A handful of interested amateur photographers and film makers founded the «Foto-Film Klub Belp» in 1975. In 2001 we mutated into «Foto-Klub Belp» and have around 37 members.

The Foto-Klub Belp is a member of PHOTOSUISSE and thus also of the international association FIAP and the association association Belp.

Our club magazine «Die Blende» is published every 2 months. We meet on the second Monday of each month in the Pfruendschüür Belp. We maintain a lively exchange of professional and technical information as well as photo exhibitions and other photogenic events.

We take an active part in Photo Münsingen every year.

Some members regularly take part in PHOTOSUISSE events and national competitions, as well as in the international «Coupe du Monde FIAP des Clubs». An integral part is the Digi village competition that takes place every 2 years with 5 friendly clubs. Every year we hold a 3-part competition on predefined and freely selectable topics.

In addition to participating in Photo Münsingen, we exhibited several times in the Migros Club School in Thun and in the Riggisberg hospital. In 2018, we had the unique opportunity to show 126 images in the Bundeshaus media center in Bern.

Topics: lighting mood and color as a motif

The Fotoklub Belp holds an annual competition, which consists of three parts. On the one hand we have two themed competitions, in which each photo club member can submit 3 pictures, and on the other hand the portfolio competition. These pictures are judged by an external photo club. The ranking points resulting from the competitions result in the annual ranking.

4 photo clubs

The four photo clubs Thun, Belp, Solothurn and Blende 8 have been supporting Photo Münsingen since the beginning in 2000 through their regular participation in the club competition for the Photo Münsingen Award and through countless helpers to ensure the smooth running of the event and for the complex assembly and dismantling of the exhibition infrastructure.
