Cuba's classic cars
When the wealthy Cubans fled the revolution in 1959, they had to leave their magnificent cars behind. Since then, it has no longer been possible for private individuals to buy new vehicles. Despite the US embargo, the Cubans manage - thanks to their talent for improvisation, Russian truck engines and Korean gearboxes, etc. - that these "American sleds" are still roadworthy and have become a tourist attraction.
