American Dreamscapes

Christian Heeb photographed his America. "American Dreamscapes" show the darkness on the outskirts of the city. Scenes of the inhabitants of rural America are reminiscent of films such as The Big Lebowski or Pulp Fiction. Christian Heeb worked on this project for more than four years. The wonderfully bizarre world of everyday American life in the countryside.
American Dreamscapes shows the "American" world at the abyss of the American Dream. We find the remnants of America's soft power. The American sledges from the golden age of the US auto industry, the seemingly endless expanses of the “Desert Highways”, the old dinners and the Hopperesque scenes populated by people without hope, colorfully tattooed, deliberately lascivious but empty.
The soundtrack is from Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska and Johnny Cash's American Recordings.
The pictures can be seen in a limited exhibition at Photo Münsingen.
